Terry and I were going to go down to Southern California for Thanksgiving and spend time with our respective families. But Terry came down with a nasty cold, so we decided to stay home. We missed seeing our families, but it was good to have a quiet Thanksgiving at home, and we put together quite the Thanksgiving dinner for the two of us.
Another upside to the cancelled trip was that I'm at home for Christ the King Sunday (or, perhaps, the Last Sunday after Pentecost where you worship). It's important for me to me in Church during those transitions between seasons. Normally we can be away for the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I can still be in church for the last Sunday after Pentecost. It didn't work out that way this year, but I'm home after all.
So I'm home for the end of the Sundays after Pentecost and for the start of Advent. That's a good thing.
And I'm ready for the start of Advent. It's been a long, tough, green season after Pentecost, and I'm more than ready for the blue of Advent.
