Let me see if I can tie this all together.
I wrote about buying a DVD player for the treadmill. So far the experiment has been a success, and I've spent some good time on the treadmill, watching The Muppet Show, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Coupling (the original BBC version), and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
I'm an Audible subscriber, and have a number of audio books on my iPod. As a motivation to get me on the treadmill, I would specify certain books that were only for listening to on the treadmill. That didn't work. They were just not listened to.
Now after the election, I gave up sports talk in favor of NPR. I would listen both while sitting at my desk, when working from home, as well as when walking Tasha. But even with Obama in the White House, one can only take so much news. So I started listening to audio books while walking Tasha. When I completed a couple of others, I turned to my treadmill-restricted audio book, now freed from that restriction by the DVD player on the treadmill.
It's all working out.
